How To Be A Model For Styled Shoots As A Divine Senior Spokesmodel

One of the many perks of being a Divine Senior Spokesmodel is the opportunity to model for many styled shoots that I do throughout the year. I have done many shoots with my beautiful spokesmodels. I have done some for fun and some for a magazine called Young Blood Melanie Magazine. I love to do styled shoots because it is a fun way to do something different with no pressure and no stress on me or my models. I wanted to show you all the different styled shoots I have done to give you an idea of what you can expect if you are chosen to be a model during your senior year.

Labels. I came up with the concept for this shoot because I have been bullied most of my life and have had negative labels place on me that kept me from being my best me. So this shoot was to show it doesn't matter what the world thinks of us just what God and the people who truly love us think about us.

The Five Queens. I wanted to write a short story to go along with each queen because I love fantasy stories and I thought this would be a fun shoot to do because I wanted to show each of the models that they are all queens no matter what the world says of them. Each of the queens could control an element. The queen in the blue dress is the queen of water, the black queen was the queen is the queen of death and destruction, the green queen is the queen of life, the queen in red is the queen of fire and the white queen is the queen of ice. If you would like to read their stories you can scroll down to my very first posts.

Cowboy and Angel. In this set of photos is one of my 2018 Spokesmodels and also my sister-in-law. Elena and her boyfriend Justyn (also pictured) love the song Cowboys and Angels by Dustin Lynch so I decided to bring that song to life in this shoot.

Our Inner Demons. This shoot was something personal for me because I struggle with all of the emotions that are pictured. This shoot was to show how all of us struggle internally with dark imperfect things that we try to keep covered up with a bright perfect exterior. The dark emotions that I wanted to portray are fear, depression, and anger. These are all emotions that I keep hidden from the world sometimes.

Timeless. I did this shoot with a friend who is so beautiful and strong and reminded me of Audrey Hepburn who is thought of as a timeless woman. Audrey Hepburn was such a kind woman and didn't believe in putting other women down to make herself better. She was modest and didn't  believe that our exterior beauty mattered. My Favorite quote from her is "The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows. And the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years." I believe that she is truly timeless and I strive to be more like her.

Warriors. This shoot was one that I had wanted to do for a long time, I have always loved the idea of taking fictional characters that are normally calm and non-aggressive and turning them into warriors. I love what a warrior stands for, what they do to protect their people, and how they look. In this shoot, I took different looks from different cultures to make the costumes, create the war paint, hairstyles, makeup and chose the weapons for each girl. This shoot was even for fun because the location I decided on was covered in snow! It made everything so much for fun and added a very cool element to the shoot. This was a very different shoot for the models because instead of smiling they had to be very straight-faced and ferocious. They had to pretend that they were fighting for their lives and that they were worn with battle scars.

Each of these shoots have been so much fun to work on and have been ways for the spokesmodel team to break out of their normal lives and have a chance to be someone else and have fun. I can't wait to see all of the styled shoots that I will be able to do with the 2019 team. If modeling is something you love than this is the perfect program for you because you will be able to model for many shoots throughout your senior year! So make sure you head over to the Divine Seniors tab of this website and click the Spokesmodel application and apply for the team! I can't wait to see who will be on the team this year!

Audrey Hepburn is someone I have always admired. She was immensely beautiful, kind, and simply stated, a timeless woman. Hepburn didn't find her value in men… she didn't even think she was beautiful. These quotes, that I love, demonstrate what she believed:

“The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she carries or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows. And the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.”

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”

Hepburn was gentle, thoughtful, and loved people. I also admire that there was great value in building others up instead of tearing each other down. I find myself wishing more present day women would set aside petty gossip, or slander and instead, take on Hepburn's point of view. Women can be very competitive and often become very insecure by other women who may be more fit, successful, etc.

Why do we do this to ourselves and to each other? We as women should rally around each other in the good and the bad times. This is something I, as well, need to think about.

The Queen Who Was Kind

Not far from Queen Kire’s kingdom was a beautiful kingdom on a huge body of water. This kingdom was under the rule of a beautiful Queen by the name of Amatheia. She was so kind to her subjects and loved to play with the children of her kingdom. Unlike all the other kingdoms she was not the only one with the ability to control the element. There were many people in her kingdom that had the same ability she had and she took pride in teaching them how to control it better. Her castle was open during the day to anyone who wanted to enter and talk with her or the other members of the royal family. Every year the kingdom held a festival where the most powerful would put on displays and dances with water to celebrate their victory in the war. This tradition was started by the Queen’s grandfather who taught her everything she knew. He was a kind and caring man who held the same power as his granddaughter and loved to teach her how to control it for beauty and defense. When Amatheia was sixteen years old the kingdom was attacked by an army of fifty men that did not follow any queen. They were ruthless and came for blood but with the help of her grandfather they were able to use the defense techniques he had taught her to defeat the army and send them running in fear! So every year since that day they have held the festival. They also started training the people in the ways of using their power to defend their kingdom. She was the most kind and outgoing Queen to ever rule her kingdom.

The Queen With a Shattered Heart

On the other side of the world there was a queen whose beauty had no match. She was cold hearted but kind to her subjects. She was the Queen of a kingdom made fully of ice. She was able to control ice to create structures, artwork and beautiful things for her subjects to enjoy. She was so beautiful and kind that her subjects wanted to spend time with her and get to know her but she always stayed inside her beautiful ice castle. Her name was Queen Thea-Rose and she was truly as beautiful as a white rose in winter. All of her subjects wish they could know why she keeps herself so secluded from everyone. Only one person in the entire kingdom knew her story and it was her brother. He left the castle one day to go to the village and told her story to anyone who would listen. When Queen Thea-Rose was a little girl she loved to make fun things for her and her brother to play on. She loved making him and her parents laugh and having fun with them she truly had a kind heart to any person who came near her. She was the oldest so she was heir to the throne and my mother and father trained her in the ways of our kingdome. She was so excited to become Queen and spread joy and prosperity to all her subjects. She loved my parents and me with all her heart and as she grew that love started going to a young man and when she was sixteen she was head over heals in love with him. His name was Brandon and he was just as kind hearted and loving as she was. They made the perfect couple and when she turned eighteen and him twenty they decided to get married. It was going to be a beautiful ceremony and a time of celebration! But then the war happened and he and our father were asked to join the fight as they were the best sword fighters in the kingdom, my father had trained him. This happened a week before their big day and when they left for the battle he promised to return safely along with our father. After three months we got word that we had won the war, but our father and Brandon died bravely in battle. A few months later our mother passed as well and her heart shattered. Three of the people she loved so dearly were gone. She is still the kind hearted girl she was but she needs time to grieve.  After hearing what had happened to their beautiful queen they understood her and patiently awaited the day that they would be able to see her beauty again.

The Queen of Death and The Queen of Life

Queen Renexia was even more ruthless than Rona. She was born with the ability to kill anything she stepped on or touched she could even kill a man! She took pride in walking through a beautiful green forest and just touching the ground and killing everything around her. Everyone in her kingdom feared her because she was the most ruthless person on earth and if you angered her she would end your life! She was the most evil of all the queens. She did have a sister who was kind, caring and ruled over the kingdom in most beautiful forest on earth. Her name was Kire and unlike her sister she had the power to bring everything to life. The two sisters were born on the same day but they were total opposites. Renexia was evil from the day she was born. She never cared for anyone and loved killing the plants around her. Their parents were like them their father was kind a loving like Kire, while their mother was just as evil and cold hearted as Renexia. Everyone wondered how these two different people could have children together but what they didn't realize was that their mother put a spell on their father in the hopes that she would be able to rule both of their kingdoms. But right before the girls were born the spell broke and he realized what had happened. But he played it out and waited till the girls were born and took Kire away to his kingdom leaving Renexia behind with her mother. When Renexia turned ten he tried to come back for her but she was already too far gone. When Renexia learned she had a sister she tried to attack Kire’s kingdom but Kire and her father had been training for that day and she was more powerful and was able to defeat Renexia. Ever since that day Renexia has turned her attention to causing death in her own kingdom and her rivalry with Queen Rona.

The Queen of Fire

Once upon a time, there were five different queens
with very different kingdoms. There was the kingdom of fire that was under the reign of Queen Rona. She was a very beautiful queen who captured the heart of every man in her kingdom; but she was also very ruthless, and loved to start trouble with her ability to control fire. She was very powerful and prideful in the fact that she knew she could have and do whatever she wanted.

She was not always like this—even though she had a hard and powerful outside, she was very small on the inside. When she was a child, all she wanted to do was make art with her fire, to use it to make beauty not destruction. But her mother was ruthless and took advantage of her power to take the land from the widowed King. He was kind and handsome, and Rona won over his heart and he loved and treated her as his own daughter since he had no children of his own. When he married Rona’s mother, she was the happiest girl alive!

Sadly, it didn't last long, for her mother had her use her powers to kill her new father. She didn't want to, she loved her father with all her heart! He encouraged her to use her ability for art and beauty, and showed her that she wasn't just capable of destruction. One horrible night, her mother tricked her into killing him by setting his room on fire telling, her that he said he wanted the room burned down so he could start over. After she realized what she had done, she became cold hearted and abandoned her old ways of using fire for beauty, and started
using it for destruction. She grew up to be very beautiful, and she knew that she was and she took advantage of it. That kind little girl died that night along with her father, and she was never the same again. She was never jealous of anyone because she knew no one could be more beautiful or more ruthless than her. But one day she stumbled across a queen who not only came close to her beauty, but she felt she could be even more beautiful than her. This queen was Queen Renexia, who ruled over the kingdom of darkness, and she became the enemy of Queen Rona.
