Last Saturday my husband and I filmed a video for my Youtube channel that was my personal take on the “My Husband does my Makeup Challenge”. In the video he does my hair, makeup, picks my outfit and takes the photos of me! This was very fun to film because he got to see what I do for my clients and my creative shoots. He actually did a very good job with everything and I was pleased with how he decided to do everything! If you would like to watch the video you can follow this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-5h2WT4XMg, and if you would like to see the images he captured you can scroll down through this post!
Last week I wrote a post about my 2019 meet and greet party for my senior spokesmodels and how amazing it was but today I want to write about how I planned and executed it! A Lot of different details and planning went into this day to make it amazing! The first thing I needed to do with my intern's help was to plan out every detail, talk over how we wanted the day to go, what we wanted to do for games, the backdrop, props for photos, food, and many other things.
For games, we decided to do giant Jenga, corn hole, lawn darts, and a fun game that we played at my 2018 teams Christmas party. This required you to blow up a balloon and let the air out to blow plastic cups off of the table, each person has eight cups and the first person to blow all eight off the table wins! This was a very fun game that gave us an abundance of laughs. Each of these games took some preparation. Giant Jenga required us to go to the hardware store and get 2X4s to make the pieces and then sand each piece down to make them smooth. We were lucky to already have the lawn darts and corn hole but we had to dig them out of the garage and find a place in the yard to set it up.
The backdrop that we used for photos was an old sheet that I had laying around the house and the design was hand painted! This backdrop was super simple and inexpensive to make. I had the supplies around the house already but if you don't have a sheet or paint you can get a bed sheet from the thrift store for 2-3 dollars and acrylic paint for fifty cents at Walmart..
I decided to make flower crowns and buy some cute props to take photos with to make it a little more fun! I will leave a link to a video that I made about how to DIY your own flower crown so that you can make one yourself! I also had out fake DIY flower bouquets and a few single fake roses so that the girls could have fun with their photos!
For food, I decided to go simple and make burgers for everyone so that they could make it the way they like it and had Mac and Cheese on the side for one of my girls who is a vegetarian and I had a gluten-free option for another girl who is allergic to gluten. When you plan an event like this make sure that you ask your attendees if they are allergic to anything so that you can make sure you have an option for them! I also had lemonade and mango tea which we ended up mixing together to give it a good taste and a pretty pink color which looked amazing in the mason jars that we used as drinking glasses.
Thank you so much for reading I hope you enjoyed this post and if you decide to use any of these ideas for a party of your own make sure you tag me @divinecreationsbymaggie or use the #divineparty so that I can see all of the amazing things that you make!
On June 23’rd 2018 I had my 2019 Divine Senior Spokesmodel Team meet and greet party. The idea behind the meet and greet is to get all of the girls together in one place to meet each other and have fun as a team to kick off the year. We had a giant Jenga, a hand-painted backdrop for photos, tea and lemonade in mason jars, and a tournament style game of balloon cups! This is my first year doing a meet and greet and it was exactly how I pictured it going! All of my girls had a total blast and just clicked with each other! I have no doubt that by the end of the year they will be the best of friends.
I could not have pulled this off without the help of some amazing people! My amazing husband who ran all of the errands with me, and let me spend some extra money to have some pretty details, and helped me sand down all of the Jenga pieces. Next my amazing grandma for letting me host this event at her home, helping me with food and sand down those Jenga pieces. Next my amazing sister for helping with the Jenga pieces and for showing my intern how to film the event. Lastly my amazing intern Cheyenne! She did so much like helping me paint the backdrop, bringing decorations, helping me stay organized, blowing up balloons, filming footage for my youtube video, and taking behind the scenes photos. I could not have pulled this off without her and I am so blessed to have her as apart of my business!
Now it's time to enjoy some of the beautiful images that I got to capture of my team during the party! I hope you have a divine day!
“When you meet someone that teaches you, befriends you, and cares for you as much as Maggie cares about her clients you wouldn’t want anyone else to take the biggest moments in your life. When I arrived to my Senior prom pictures Maggie was waiting with open arms and a camera around her shoulders. Typical Maggie wearing a camera around her neck, it’s not just a huge part of her business, it’ literally attached to her body. This beautiful mind of hers finds the best in people, bringing out the biggest smiles and an abundant amount of laughs. The best part of every shoot with Maggie is when she tries to get you to laugh. She uses this fake laugh that is meant to make you laugh but then you just end up laughing at Maggie’s snort. My Senior Prom pictures were my favorite photoshoot I have ever been a part of. The poses were beautiful and the colors came out more amazing than the eye originally see’s”- Review from 2018 Senior Spokesmodel Cheyenne Osborne.
These photos are the exact thing that makes doing what I love the best. Learning about the people I love and care about is what brings my career to life. I have known Cheyenne for six years through Sagebrush church. Not only was she the best client I could ask for she is an amazing friend and was one of my bridesmaids. So when she asked me to take all of her senior moments I was overjoyed! Capturing moments that only happen once is my goal and inspiration to give my clients the best and most memorable photos. Life only gives you so many moments and I plan to capture every single one of them. Thank you for reading! I hope you all have a Divine day!
In previous weeks I shared about my sister Elena's senior prom and her glamorous shoot. This week I decided to show you different sides of this prom. Most proms exclude lower classes such as Freshman and sophomores but at Elena and Lily's school they include all grades. Elena and Lilly's school is so small that they let everyone the attend prom so they have enough kids there for it to be a real celebration! I personally think that is what makes high school worth it. Lilly looked absolutely stunning! I was so blessed to have been there for her first high school prom. She attended with her two beautiful friends Bailey and Lauren and I was so happy that they wanted to do pictures as well! Girls dream of this day since the day the walk through those High School doors and I am so proud to say I captured the first of many prom moments for my sister Lily. I hope you enjoy this beautiful girls photos as much as I like taking them. Have a Divine day!

The blog post has been a long time coming but I wanted to take my time writing it because I wanted it to be as perfect as it can be! On April 28th my sister-in-law Elena had her senior prom. I had been waiting for three years for this day to finally come and it was straight out of a dream! From her dress to her grandma's pearls everything was so beautiful and special!
So a few weeks before the big day I asked her if I could photograph her prom like a mini wedding because I thought it would be so fun and she agreed! So I took the day on as a wedding so I photographed her details, her dress on a wall, and her getting ready! This was soo much more fun than just doing photos of her, Justyn, Lilly, her friends and her family. By doing it this way I got a lot of amazing shots for her and I was also able to practice my detail shots for my weddings!
In this post, I will share and go into detail about every part of the day, and the first part I want to go into is the beautiful details! Her beautiful pearls were actually her grandmothers and were real and very old so they had that beautiful color that vintage pearls have. Her clutch and shoes were from payless...... I know right they look like high-end designer shoes and a high-end clutch! We were very proud of the fact that we found those shoes and clutch on sale and walked out of the store with both for under twenty dollars! I know its crazy right! Oh and we cannot forget about that beautiful dress that is from David's Bridal! It fit like a glove and flattered her so well while still being modest!
I also took a few photos of the getting read process because I wanted to show you the amazing processes of Caitlyn Richey! She is just an amaxing hair and makeup artist!
Before we got pictures with Elena with her handsome boyfriend I wanted to get some of just her and she killed it! I remember when she was so uncomfortable in front of the camera and it was difficult to get some images where she looked truly happy but now she is a total model and a natural in front of the camera! These beautiful images say it all!
Now lets get on to the CUTEST couple photos ever! Elena and Justyn have been together for two and a half years and they are such a strong couple in the Lord and in their morals. These photos were so beautiful and I had been dreaming of them for moths before this day even came! His reaction when he first saw her in the dress was the most amazing part of the day and I couldn't stop smiling. All of these photos were so beautiful because they are so in love and you can see it in their eyes!
And of course I cant forget to post a few photos of my handsome brother!!!
Now is the time for sister, brother, and photos with me! Lilly and Elena are so close and share so many interests and I am so happy to have become their sister last year so I wanted to take some photos with them as well! They are both so natural in front of the camera and just enjoy each other that I got the cutest photos of them. I also got a few photos with their bother, my husband, as well so they would have some nice photos with him. Lilly and Justyn are also super close so I got some funny and cute photos of them as well! And we couldnt forget Justyn's best friend Zeek so we got a few funnyphotos with him as well!
Thank you so much for reading though this post and seeing all of the beautiful photos that I had the honor to capture for my little sister's senior prom! I hope you all have an amazing weekend and I cant wait for you to see my post nest week!

Today I wanted to share with you one of the coolest sessions I have ever had the pleasure capture. Not only was this session for a young man that I have known since he was three or four but it was also a session with his beautiful girlfriend Larrisa! This session was so fun seeing how he has grown and his interaction with Larrisa. They were so comfortable with each other and goofy so it was easy to capture their personalities and love for each other. They are both in Army ROTC at Valencia High School and you want to know something cool that they tease each other about... She outranks him! They are both planning to go into the army and serve our country! How awesome is that? Ryan and Larrisa were a dream to work with and I am so blessed to know them and I can't wait to see how they are going to change the world!
Seniors: Ryan and Larrisa
Locations: Los Lunas Rail Road Station, and a beautiful neighborhood road.
School: Valencia High School
Thank you so much for reading this post and looking at these beautiful photos! I loved ever second of this session and I cant wait to capture more like it! Congratulations Larissa and Ryan I wish nothing but the best for both of you and thank you for your future service to our beautiful country!
Happy Friday everyone! I am about to jump into a week that is full of graduation ceremonies and graduation parties! So I thought I would share with you my first 2018 cap and gown session of the beautiful Mickie! Throughout the next few weeks, I will be sharing with you all of my grads as they put on their caps and gowns and get ready to walk across that stage!
I haven't known Mickie for very long but we attend church together and I love how kind she is and how she just radiates the love of God! She is definitely a natural in front of the camera and you can see that in the images below! I was so thrilled when she let me take her cap and gown photos and I love every single one of them so much that I couldn't post them all to Instagram so I put them on here where you can see them all!
High school: Homeschooled.
Location: Corrales, New Mexico.
Senior: Mickie Morlang
I cannot wait to see what my other 2018 grads will look like for their cap and gown photos! This is going to be such a fun series and I cant wait to show you more! I hope you all have an amazing friday and a fantastic weekend!
Good afternoon beautiful brides and handsome grooms! Happy Wedding Wednesday I am excited to bring this post to your screen! Today I wanted to give you an answer to a question I get a lot from newly engaged brides and grooms, and that question is "how far in advance should we book our photographer?". My answer to this would be as soon as you have a date! Most photographers start booking for the year that they are in and the following year. So with that being said, they are booked pretty far in advance so if you find a photographer you really like you should book a consult with them as soon as your date is chosen to make sure that you can have them for your big day. Finding a photographer that you love takes a little bit of time because there are so many styles that each photographer has. There is the light bright and airy which is my style, there is the dark and moody, and there are also photographers that shoot on film. Finding a style that you like is crucial because that will narrow down your search for photographers.
I hope that this post helped answer this question for you if you are newly engaged! If you have any questions durring the wedding planning processs that you would lik me to answer you can comment on this post or shoot me an email at email@example.com and I will answer them in my next blog post! I hope you have an amazing Wednesday and happy wedding planning!
Today I wanted to share with you all of the beautiful images I got to capture of my beautiful spokesmodel team for our styled shoot! Now you will see three girls that you will not recognize if you know who is on my 2018 team and let me explain. Sadly only one of the girls on the 2018 team was able to make it to the shoot so I asked two beautiful young women from my church who will be 2019 seniors to step in and model for me! I also asked my youngest sister-in-law because let's just face it she is too stunning not to get in front of my camera! So since three of my girls couldn't make it one of them asked me to come to her house to do a mini styled shoot and I was so excited that she still wanted to take some photos even though she couldn't be there the day of!
So today I just want to share with you all of the photos and introduce each girl to you so that you can get to know their beautiful faces! Each of them are so beautiful inside and out and before we started the styled shoot I wanted to share a devotional with them that was about beauty and where it truly lives. I wanted each of them to know that even though they were getting all glammed up they are more beautiful just the way they are! They don't need the makeup to be beautiful. I didn't want them comparing themselves to one another either because they are one of a kind and that is the most beautiful thing! So without further ado lets get to know each of these beautiful young women!
The first beautiful young woman I want to introduce you to is one of the girls on my 2018 team, Cheyenne! I met her through church three years ago and just immediately connected with her! She was so fun, outgoing, and just had a laugh that lit up the room! She is one of the most hardworking people I have ever met! She has always put her education above anything else and pushes to achieve her goals. She works on the yearbook for Volcano Vista High School and just recently won first place at the State competition of the Technology Student Association in photography (you can see why I am so proud hahaha). After she graduates she plans to attend Central New Mexico Community College to start her journey towards becoming a forensic photographer for the FBI! She is so confidant and beautiful and I know that she is going to go far and I cant believe I am blessed enough to have a front row seat to see it all!
Next is Elena! She is my sister-in-law and she is goofiest, loving, hardworking person I have ever met. I met her when she was very young at the time when I was helping her mom (my now mother-in-law) teach a sign language class at our homeschool coop. We reconnected almost three years ago when she was in my small group at Sagebrush Church and that is where I met her brother who a year and a half later became my husband. As a country girl trapped in the city her love lyes with horses. Her love first began when she started equestrian vaulting five years ago. For those of you who don't know what equestrian vaulting is..... its gymnastics on the back of a moving horse!!!! WHAT?!?! I know its insane but she is amazing at it and that's where her love for horses started! She plans to attend either Texas Tech or Colorado State University in the fall to major in biomedical engineering and then go to vet school with an emphasis in equine science! Her dream is to figure out how to build prosthetic limbs for horses! How cool is that! I am so bless to be able to call her my sister and I cant wait to see where God is going to take her I know she is going to do amazing things!
Bailey is just a ray of sunshine! I met her a year ago through my church but just only recently started getting close to her! She is one of the most outgoing happy people I think I have ever met and can just make everyone's day better by walking into a room! She is a 2019 senior who loves action with Heat Strings Theater Company and Encore Theater. She has played many amazing roles such as Nanny in Peter Pan, The sheriff's wife in Robin Hood and many other! I always love seeing her on stage and I can't wait to see who she will be cast as for The Lion King this summer! She is going to do amazing things her senior year and I cant wait to see it all happen!
Julia is shyer and reserved around people she doesn't know that well but once you are blessed enough to know her she is one of the kindest and sassiest girls I know! She has a beautiful singing voice and is a very talented actress! She has performed in the same companies as Bailey and many more! She has played many big roles such as Dorty in the Wizard of Oz, Lady Marion in Robin Hood, Beth in Little Women, and many many more! I always love seeing her on stage because that is where you see her beauty and love for theater shine! I can not wait to see who she will play in The Lion King this summer and I am so blessed to be able to know her and be able to see where God is going to take her during her senior year and for the rest of her life!
Last but not least is my beautiful sister-in-law Lilly! Now when you see the photos of her do not be fooled she is not 21 she is only 15 years old! I know crazy! She is only a freshman this year but I never hesitate to get her in front of my camera. She has so many different talents it blows my mind! She is a professionally trained model, a singer, an actress, know Jappanees and is learning Korean, a dancer, and one the top shooters on her Junior ROTC marksmenship team (as a freshman)! I could go on and on but she is just so beautiful inside and out. Ever since I started dating my husband I have called her my ball of sunshine bcause she can light up my darkest days by just walking into a room! I can't wait to see where God is going to take her not only for the rest of high school but for the rest of her life! I am so blessed to have a front-row seat not just as a friend but as her sister!
I hope that you all enjoy this post and that this helps you decide if you want to be apart of my 2019 team! Applications will be closing May 10'th so be sure to apply before it's too late! Thank you to Caitlyn Richey, and Kierstyn Robbs for helping with hair and makeup and my amazing sister Sarah Ash for filming a behind the scenes video! I hope you all have an amazing day and a fantasic rest of your school years!
The party is over on Instagram so come follow along!
Good afternoon brides and grooms! Today I wanted to write a post breaking down both of my wedding packages to show you what you are investing in when you book me as your wedding photographer. Your wedding photos, in my opinion, are one of the top three things worth investing in for your big day! Your wedding day is all about you and your groom and you want to remember every second of your wedding day not only for you but so you can also show your children and grandchildren and pass those photos down in your family! I have been married for eight months now and I still look back and treasure every single photo from my wedding day! Now me telling you this might not show why you should invest in an awesome wedding photographer or why they are so expensive so let me break down my packages for you to show you what all goes into making your wedding photos beautiful.
It is never just the hour and a half to two hours of session coverage when we take your photos. A lot of things go on behind the scenes to make every wedding that I do a success. Now with that being said let's look at my packages and all that goes into your wedding!
The Divine Wedding is my basic package for $700 plus tax and includes:
Price is $700 plus tax.
Up to thirteen hours of coverage.
Two-hour engagement session included.
No less than five hundred images.
A shareable and private online gallery with unlimited access.
Five 8X10 prints.
The Heirloom wedding is my deluxe package for $900 and includes:
Price is $900 plus tax.
Up to fifteen hours of coverage.
Three-hour engagement session included.
No less than five hundred images.
A shareable and private online gallery with unlimited access.
Five 8X10 prints.
One twenty page album with a leather or colored linen cover.
Now that I have broken down what is included in my packages I want to tell you what you are paying for when you choose one of the three packages.
Session Coverage 13-20 hours:
So, of course, the coverage of which package you choose is included but what you may not know is that it takes me an hour to location scout to find the perfect place to take your engagement photos. This happens a few days before your engagement session and before I leave my office the day of your session I spend thirty minutes cleaning gear, wiping memory cards and packing my bag. On a wedding day, I arrive 30-45 minutes before you start getting ready to location scout for the portraits. So what most people don't realize is that you are booking me for an extra two to three hours than what is stated on the package information.
Editing 12-17 hours:
After a session, I am so excited so as soon as I get home I start culling through all of the photos to find the ones that will be delivered to you. This culling process takes me one to two hours each to complete for your engagement session and wedding day and after I have found all of the good photos I start the editing process. The editing process takes me anywhere from eight to ten hours for each session depending on how many photos I will be delivering. I take my time to make sure that every photo is edited to my light and airy style and if it was a cloudy day or skin tones don't look quite right I make sure to fix all of those problems to make sure that every photo comes out beautiful.
Consultation 30 Minutes - 1 hour:
I require that all of my brides and grooms sit down with me for a consultation to answer a questionnaire so I can get to know both of you better, learn more about your big day, go over the different package options, book your date, sign the contract and pay the $100 deposit (which is included in the package price). This takes anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour depending on how many questions you and your groom may have.
Here is a break down of what I make per hour using my Divine Wedding package.
This package is $700 so most people assume I am making $55 an hour and that is not the case. See the beak down below.
$700 - $20 (gas) - $20 (Engagement style guide) = $660
I added up all of the average hours from earlier and divided it by 180 to get how many hours goes into each session.
Engagement Session: 4
660/35 = $18 an hour
I wanted to end this post with saying that yes there is A LOT of hard work that goes into an engagement session and a wedding day but I wouldn't have it any other way! I enjoy every single part of this process and I am so blessed that I get to do this for my job! I hope that this post today helped you understand not just what goes into making your wedding the best day of your life but also what you get in return. When you invest in your wedding photos you are investing in memories that will last a lifetime and that can get passed down in your family. I hope you all have an amazing week and happy wedding planning!
The party is over on Instagram so come follow along!
Good afternoon seniors and parents! Today I wanted to write a post breaking down all of my senior packages to show you what you are investing in when you have your senior photos taken. Your senior photos, in my opinion, are something worth investing in! Your senior year is your time to shine and you want to remember all that you did in high school to show your children and grandchildren! I have been graduated from high school for four years now and I still look back and treasure my senior photos! Now me telling you this might not show why you should get senior photos or why they are so expensive so let me break down my packages for you to show you what all goes into making your senior photos beautiful.
It is never just the hour and a half to two hours of session coverage when we take your photos. A lot of things go on behind the scenes to make every session that I do a success. Now with that being said let's look at my packages and all that goes into your session!
The Simple Senior is my basic package for $180 and includes:
- One and a half hours of session coverage.
- One location.
- Two outfits.
- One glamour outfit (Optional).

The Active Senior is my midway package for $220 and includes:
- Two-hour session coverage.
- Two locations.

Now that I have broken down what is included in my packages I want to tell you what you are paying for when you choose one of the three packages.
Session Coverage 2-4 hours:
So, of course, the session coverage in which package you choose is included but what you may not know is that it takes me an hour to location scout to find the perfect place to take your photos. This happens a few days before your session and before I leave my office the day of your session I spend thirty minutes cleaning gear, wiping memory cards and packing my bag. I take my time to make sure that every photo is edited to my light and airy style and if it was a cloudy day or skin tones don't look quite right I make sure to fix all of those problems to make sure that every photo comes out beautiful.
Consultation 30 Minutes - 1 hour:
I require that all of my senior clients sit down with me for a consultation to answer a questionnaire so I can get to know you better, go over the different package options, book your date, sign the contract and pay the $50 deposit (which is included in the session price). This takes anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour depending on how many questions you and your parents may have.
Here is a break down of what I make per hour using my Active Senior package.
This package is $220 so most people assume I am making $110 an hour and that is not the case. See the beak down below.
$220 - $15 (gas) - $25 (senior packet) = $180
I added up all of the average hours from earlier and divided it by 180 to get how many hours goes into each session.
180/16 = $11 an hour
I wanted to end this post with saying that yes there is A LOT of hard work that goes into a senior session but I wouldn't have it any other way! I enjoy every single part of this process and I am so blessed that I get to do this for my job! I hope that this post today helped you understand not just what goes into your session but also what you get in return. When you invest in your senior photos you are investing in memories that will last a lifetime and that can get passed down in your family. I hope you all have an amazing weekend and an amazing senior year!
I have been waiting for months to write a post about this topic! The bridal portraits are my ABSOLUTE favorite part of a wedding day! The bridal portraits are just for the bride and groom to have a special moment just the two of them on their hectic day of greeting family and friends. These photos are the ones that are the most treasured by the bride and groom because they are off on their own and can truly be themselves and share special moments together as husband and wife.
I remember when I did my bridal portraits with my husband it was time that we could share and take a breath and really let it sink in that we were now husband and wife. It was a day that we had both been looking forward to for so long and it was finally happening and these moments were where we could fully take it in. Our wedding day was amazing but difficult nothing went the way we wanted. It started raining so we had to hold back our pictures and do them in not the best location, we also just had a lot of little things go wrong and it stressed me out. Now I wasn't a bridezilla but I did have a moment when I broke down in tears because I was so disappointed. Even though all that was happening when it came time to do our bridal portraits those special moments we shared in that time calmed me down and allowed me to enjoy the rest of the day.
In every wedding, there is always at least one thing that does not go according to plan and that can be very stressful for the bride and groom. Since this stress is inevitable the bridal portraits are a must! They give the couple time to just themselves to drink in each other and get their minds back on what that day is all about, and that is marrying the person of their dreams.
My favorite moments during the bridal portraits are the unplaned ones! I don't like to pose my couples because it looks forced and not genuine. I love to direct my couples to stand a certain way and let them interact with each other whether it is laughing, gazing lovingly into each other's eyes, or just sharing a tender moment. Those are the photos that come out the most beautiful and end up being my couples favorite photos from their day!
Now that I have shared all of that information it is now time to see with your own eyes what I am talking about! I am going to share with you my favorite bridal portraits from all of the weddings I have had the honor to capture! My brides and grooms are some of the best people I have ever met and I am so blessed that they chose me to capture the best daynof their lives.
Thank you so much for reading today's Wedding Wednesday post! I hope this helps give you some photo ideas for your bridal portraits and that you remember to take this time in on your wedding day and enjoy every second of it! I hope you have a blessed week and happy wedding planning!
Good afternoon everyone today I wanted to write this post about a very special senior! I have known Cheyenne since she was a sophomore in high school and ever since I have met her my life has become so much better. She is so kind, strong and talented in so many things. I was blessed enough to have her in my bridal party for my wedding and she helped calm me down when I was stressed and was able to make me laugh and enjoy my day! One of the things I love about her is that she is so strong and is able to take care of herself and she has a good head on her shoulders. She is going to do amazing things with her life and I can't believe I am blessed enough to know her and see it all happen.
Your wedding day is a day that is fully thought through and planned from your dress to the smallest details of the reception. All of that work shouldn't go unnoticed or forgotten that is why the details are one of my favorite things to capture. On a wedding day, I love to capture every single beautiful detail! This includes the dress, shoes, rings, jewelry, cufflinks, tie, and flowers. In today's post, I am going to show you all of the detail shots that I have captured from all of my past weddings to give you an idea of what you need to make sure that your photographer captures on your wedding day.
First I am going to talk about the rings. You always want to make sure your photographer gets a shot of you and your groom's rings because not only are they beautiful photos that will go in your wedding album and make a beautiful Facebook cover photo or Instagram post but it's a way to show them off to friends and family and pass them down to future generations.
Along with your rings, you want to make sure your photographer captures photos of your other jewelry. Sometimes my brides buy special jewelry for their big day or their mother bought it for them or even their jewelry is a family heirloom. No matter where you got your jewelry it is still special to you so you want to get a beautiful photo of it to remember for the rest of your life.
Now the groom doesn't have special jewelry usually for the photographer to capture but they do have cufflinks, shoes, and ties. Since the groom doesn't have much I always make sure to capture everything he has so you and him have the photos to look back and remember all of the special things he had.
Now it is a stereotype that girls love shoes right? Well most of us do and we spend a lot of money finding the perfect pair of shoes for our special day. I wore cowboy boots at my wedding and I loved them so much! They were so fun and different and comfortable as well! The shoes that my brides have chosen are some of the most beautiful shoes I have ever seen! I love showing off my photos that I get of their shoes because they are stunning and what girl doesn't want a beautiful photo of her beautiful shoes?
Next is your invitations! You may think that this isn't an important detail and isn't worth capturing but believe me, if you spent as much time as I did when I designed my invitations you will want to remember them! Your invitations are a beautiful part of your day because they share information about you and your groom and what the theme of your day is going to be.
The DRESS is my absolute favorite thing to photograph when it comes to details! Hanging the dresses on the beautifully detailed wall, or a colored wall just makes it pop so beautifully! You spent so much money on that dress so you need to gett as many pictures of it as you can!
Lastly your bouquet! Your bouquet is one of the most detailed pieces of your day second to your dress. Your flowers radiate who you are and show what you love! They wont last forever so you want to make sure you get a photo of them so you can remember how beautiful they looked!
Thank you for making it all the way through this post and I hope this shows you the importance of the little details of your wedding day! I also hope this helps you as you are creating your shot list and figuring out what you want to be captured on your big day! Thank you for reading another Wedding Wednesday post and happy wedding planning!
Your Groom and his guys are harder to pose than you and your girls sometimes so today I wanted to show you some of my favorite groom and groomsmen pictures that I have captured to give you hope that your man will look amazing in your photos. Guys can be goofy and outgoing, shy and awkward, or very serious. Now if your man is goofy and outgoing these photos will be super easy because they will just have fun with them! But if your man is shy and awkward or serious there are ways that we can break them out of their shell and get some amazing photos out of them! In this post, I am going to show you photos that I have taken that are structured and posed, some that are fun and goofy, some that are more serious, and some of just the groom with each groomsman.
First I am going to tell you about the structured and posed that are happy and all smiles. These photos will be perfect for your man because no matter if he is goofy, shy, or serious he is he will be able to look good in these photos. These photos that will make your men look sharp and sophisticated in your wedding album. These photos will be the ones you have printed out and hung on your wall. These will also be the photos that you give as gifts to your groomsmen. Below I am going to show you examples of these type of photos from the many weddings I have done.
The next types of photos you want to get of the men are the funny, goofy and special ones if they are comfortable with these types of photos. If your man does not want these kinds of photos because he is not comfortable with them or doesn't like them that is totally fine we can skip these a go to some poses they are more comfortable with. If he pumped to do these kinds of photos these are the ones you will make your profile or cover photo. They are also the ones you will share at each other's weddings and make them as your phone backgrounds. I love all of the goofy photos of my husband and his groomsmen as well as the ones I have captured for other weddings.
Now If your man is a very serious kind of guy and doesn't like to do the goofy photos these kinds of photos are perfect for him and will look amazing in your wedding album! In these photos, I like to ask the guys to look into the camera and clench their jaws so their jawline is very defined. I also like to have them look off into the distance or look down while they fix their tie or cufflinks or pretend like he buttoning his shirt. These poses are less intimidating and are more comfertable for him and look amazing!
Lastly, you want to make sure that you get a photo with each of your groomsmen with your man individually. These men are his closest friends and will stand by you two in your marriage for the rest of your lives so you want to make sure they feel loved by having a good non-cell phone quality photo with him. You will also treasure these because it will be a high-quality photo that you will treasure for years to come.
I hope these photos and advice help all of you as you are planning your shot list for your big day! I hope these examples will get your groom excited for his photos and that if he is a fun and goofy, shy and awkward, or serious guy that he will enjoy the experience with his guys on your big day! I can't wait to see all of the handsome grooms and groomsmen that I will be able to capture in 2018! I hope you have an amazing day and happy wedding planning!

One of the many perks of being a Divine Senior Spokesmodel is the opportunity to model for many styled shoots that I do throughout the year. I have done many shoots with my beautiful spokesmodels. I have done some for fun and some for a magazine called Young Blood Melanie Magazine. I love to do styled shoots because it is a fun way to do something different with no pressure and no stress on me or my models. I wanted to show you all the different styled shoots I have done to give you an idea of what you can expect if you are chosen to be a model during your senior year.
Labels. I came up with the concept for this shoot because I have been bullied most of my life and have had negative labels place on me that kept me from being my best me. So this shoot was to show it doesn't matter what the world thinks of us just what God and the people who truly love us think about us.
The Five Queens. I wanted to write a short story to go along with each queen because I love fantasy stories and I thought this would be a fun shoot to do because I wanted to show each of the models that they are all queens no matter what the world says of them. Each of the queens could control an element. The queen in the blue dress is the queen of water, the black queen was the queen is the queen of death and destruction, the green queen is the queen of life, the queen in red is the queen of fire and the white queen is the queen of ice. If you would like to read their stories you can scroll down to my very first posts.
Cowboy and Angel. In this set of photos is one of my 2018 Spokesmodels and also my sister-in-law. Elena and her boyfriend Justyn (also pictured) love the song Cowboys and Angels by Dustin Lynch so I decided to bring that song to life in this shoot.
Our Inner Demons. This shoot was something personal for me because I struggle with all of the emotions that are pictured. This shoot was to show how all of us struggle internally with dark imperfect things that we try to keep covered up with a bright perfect exterior. The dark emotions that I wanted to portray are fear, depression, and anger. These are all emotions that I keep hidden from the world sometimes.
Timeless. I did this shoot with a friend who is so beautiful and strong and reminded me of Audrey Hepburn who is thought of as a timeless woman. Audrey Hepburn was such a kind woman and didn't believe in putting other women down to make herself better. She was modest and didn't believe that our exterior beauty mattered. My Favorite quote from her is "The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows. And the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years." I believe that she is truly timeless and I strive to be more like her.
Warriors. This shoot was one that I had wanted to do for a long time, I have always loved the idea of taking fictional characters that are normally calm and non-aggressive and turning them into warriors. I love what a warrior stands for, what they do to protect their people, and how they look. In this shoot, I took different looks from different cultures to make the costumes, create the war paint, hairstyles, makeup and chose the weapons for each girl. This shoot was even for fun because the location I decided on was covered in snow! It made everything so much for fun and added a very cool element to the shoot. This was a very different shoot for the models because instead of smiling they had to be very straight-faced and ferocious. They had to pretend that they were fighting for their lives and that they were worn with battle scars.
Each of these shoots have been so much fun to work on and have been ways for the spokesmodel team to break out of their normal lives and have a chance to be someone else and have fun. I can't wait to see all of the styled shoots that I will be able to do with the 2019 team. If modeling is something you love than this is the perfect program for you because you will be able to model for many shoots throughout your senior year! So make sure you head over to the Divine Seniors tab of this website and click the Spokesmodel application and apply for the team! I can't wait to see who will be on the team this year!

Today I am writing a very special post about one of my four 2018 Divine Senior Spokesmodel Team members. Mari is a very kind and caring young woman who has a heart and passion for audio engineering. I met Mari at Sagebrush Church when she was going into her junior year my sister-in-law introduced us. She was in my small group and when she discovered I was an audio engineer at Sagebrush she came to me and asked me to train her and she eventually took over the campus that I was running sound for the youth group at the time. She became an amazingly talented young audio engineer and she is deciding to continue pursuing that passion at Grand Canyon University. She plans to get a Worship Arts Degree with an empasis in media production and a minor in business. I have no doubt in my mind that she will become an amazing audio engineer and an amazing woman. I can't wait to see how God is going to use her and I am so happy that I get to see it all happen!
